Bowing to persuasion, adult ballet classes will start on Weds 9th October at Holy Trinity Barnes, Castelnau! (Just near Hammersmith Bridge, and The Bridge Pub!)
The hall is already equipped with ballet barres and classes will be held every Weds at 7.45pm - 8.45pm.
Open to everyone!
All standards are welcome, whether you used to do ballet as a child and would like to get back into it or whether you are a complete beginner looking to get fit after a baby or find better posture.
It's just about dancing to wonderful music in a friendly, fun and encouraging environment.
There are 8 classes left this term and the pricing structure is.

Autumn term return
Welcome back to the new term!
Historically the Autumn term is a very busy term and this year is no exception. It's such a delight to see all the familiar faces and also welcome lots of new ones.
This year, due to demand there are more classes in the timetable, if you would like to arrange a free trial class then do not hesitate to get in touch.

Summer classes
If you are at a loose end over the Summer then Butterfly Ballet is holding pay as you go classes starting this Weds 14th August and running every Weds until September.
Classes will be held at St Osmunds Church Hall, Castelnau, next door to the Barnes Library and there is a car park behind the Hall. Buses that run to St Osmunds are 32, 72, 209, 485, 283. The stop is Washington Road
The timings are:
Baby Ballet - 3.30pm - 4.00pm (18mths - 2.5yrs)
Nursery Ballet - 4.00pm - 4.30pm (2.5 yrs - 4yrs)
You do not need to be a member of Butterfly Ballet and there is no obligation, it's just to offer something to do over the Summer break.
Due to the nature of it being holiday time if you would like to attend a class then just send me an email at info@butterflyballet.co.uk to make sure the class has enough attendance to run.
There are also 1 or 2 places left in the Cinderella workshop on 28th August for children over age 4.

RAD Children's summer classes
A wonderful week was spent at the Royal Academy of Dance teaching the children's summer classes. Each child participated in ballet classes as well as creative classes and at the end of the week we did a little performance for the parents. Children travelled from as far as Belgium and France to attend and it was a brilliant week.
I love teaching at the RAD, the place is steeped in history and you also never know who you are going to bump into!!!

Barnes Fair 2013
On July 13th, the hottest day of the year, the little pupils of
Butterfly Ballet, Barnes participated in the local Fair. Kicking off
proceedings on the events stage, they handled the heat, the small stage
and the vast crowds brilliantly and I was enormously proud of them.
We showed some of our regular class work and then performed a little dance linked to the art theme of the Barnes Fair, Vincent Van Gogh would have been delighted with his little sunflowers I'm sure!
The Barnes Musical Theatre Club, our sister school, also gave a wonderful demonstration of The Lion King which was very well received and was a great experience to do. Our many thanks to all involved with the Barnes Fair and we hope you all had a wonderful day.

Summer fun!
I don't know where this term has gone!
Is that a sign I am getting old!
It's been a great term and with just a few weeks left there is still so much going on and activities planned for the Summer too.
July 13th - Barnes Fair
Butterfly Ballet will be doing a small demonstration. It's an art theme this year at the fair and we hope for good weather. The Barnes Musical Theatre Club is also doing a demonstration of the Lion King that we have been working on this term. Do pop down if you are around the Fair that day.
July 29th - 2nd August - RAD Summer School.
I was very excited to be asked to teach at the week long children's summer school held at the Royal Academy of Dance's Headquarters in Battersea. If you are looking for a professional, fun and creative summer camp then do check out all the events they offer. They have amazing facilities and it's a great experience for the children just to be in the centre!

July 31st - Mary Poppins Musical Theatre Workshop and Wicked Musical Theatre Workshop
The Barnes Musical Theatre Club are offering these brilliant workshops, taken by Stevie Tate Bauer who performed the lead of the green witch in Wicked. I saw her perform and she was truly outstanding and we are delighted to be bringing these workshops to Barnes. You do not need to be a member and no previous experience is necessary. Butterfly Ballet are super excited to offer a Cinderella workshop. This creative and fun workshop is based on the classic story of Cinderella and involves crafts, mime, ballet, storytelling, costumes and make up!
The perfect way to spend a morning in a little girls life!
The workshop is being run in Putney @ Eddie Catz and also in Barnes. Places are limited so do book your place if you are keen either by ringing 07547 483 699 or by emailing info@butterflyballet.co.uk

Summer Term, Summer plans!
The Summer term of Butterfly Ballet starts back this week and it already looks set to be an exciting one.
On Saturday 14th July we have been asked to perform at the Barnes Fair again and after last year's wash out look forward to a hopefully drier affair this year! It has to be said though that my little (and they were very little!) dancers at Butterfly Ballet still perserved through the rain last year and it's a testament to their lovely little spirit that the show went on!!
CINDERELLA WORKSHOP
We also have been planning Summer holiday events and will be able to offer a Cinderella workshop in both our Barnes venue and Putney venue.
These 3 hour workshops offer a great insight into some of the famous Ballets. The children will learn new things like mime, stagecraft and will also learn excerpts from the Ballet which they will then perform for parents at the end of the workshop. Hair and make up will be done and some costumes will be worn, making it a magical event.
Putney Cinderella Workshop - age 4-7 years
