Summer Term, Summer plans!

The Summer term of Butterfly Ballet starts back this week and it already looks set to be an exciting one.

On Saturday 14th July we have been asked to perform at the Barnes Fair again and after last year's wash out look forward to a hopefully drier affair this year!  It has to be said though that my little (and they were very little!) dancers at Butterfly Ballet still perserved through the rain last year and it's a testament to their lovely little spirit that the show went on!!

CINDERELLA WORKSHOP
We also have been planning Summer holiday events and will be able to offer a Cinderella workshop in both our Barnes venue and Putney venue.

These 3 hour workshops offer a great insight into some of the famous Ballets. The children will learn new things like mime, stagecraft and will also learn excerpts from the Ballet which they will then perform for parents at the end of the workshop. Hair and make up will be done and some costumes will be worn, making it a magical event.


Putney Cinderella Workshop - age 4-7 years
Weds 7th August - 10am - 1pm, at Eddie Catz (includes a free play)

Barnes Cinderella Workshop - age 4-7 years
Weds 28th August - 10am - 1pm, at St Osmund's Church Hall, Castelnau

£24. includes some Cinderella memorabilia!

RAD Cinderella Workshop in Basingstoke

Cinderella did get to the Ball!

Another enjoyable day was had on Sunday for the RAD Cinderella workshop in Basingstoke.
The wonderful studios of Basingstoke Dance Academy hosted the event and many children travelled from near and far to attend.

These workshops really are a great opportunity for the children to break away from syllabus work and learn something new and inspiring. With a mixture of stagecraft, mime and excerpts from the Ballet being learnt it's a varied and inspiring day.  Of course the hair, make and costumes are always popular too!

It has been the busiest term yet and thank you for your continued support .

Term starts back the week of Monday 22nd April and we look forward to lots more adventures next term!
