Happy Christmas!

It has been a long term!
Well done to all the children and I hope you enjoy your break.

Although the children are tired by the end, one good thing about having such a long term  is that you are really able to get stuck in and the changes and progress in the children over the past term have been significant and exciting.

2014 has been a brilliant year for Butterfly Ballet and we look forward to all the adventures that the next year holds.

Till then, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and here's to a Happy, healthy and safe 2015.

Welcome back!

We have had a wonderful Summer here at Butterfly Ballet and hope you did too.

As well as taking a much deserved break, we also held 8 Frozen workshops!
Six for children age 4-7 years and then by demand, two shorter ones for children age 3-4 years.

We really enjoyed holding them and the children loved it as well.
We will be holding more over the forthcoming year so do check the website and Facebook page for details.

We also held drop in/pay as you go classes throughout the Summer which were also very popular.

Now we are in September and we look forward to the term and year ahead. We have some new classes due to demand and are really excited about starting back.

We offer a free trial class at any point in the term and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

We look forward to meeting new pupils and also welcoming familiar faces back.

Summer workshop and drop in classes

We have a number of Summer workshops for you to choose from this year!

Frozen

With the success of Frozen and the love I can see the children have for it, it was only natural that one of this year's Summer workshops should be based on this popular film. With an opportunity to dance out the story, this workshop offers a great activity over the Summer.

Alongside ballet, the workshop will also offer arts and crafts, storytelling and stagecraft and upon pick up will end with a performance with basic hair, make up and costumes.

The workshop runs in both Putney and Barnes at the beginning and end of the holiday.
We recommend that the children bring a packed lunch for Barnes and an afternoon snack for Putney.
No experience is necessary.

Sleeping Beauty




We also will be holding a Sleeping Beauty workshop in Putney. This follows the same structure as the Frozen workshop but is based on the popular tale of Sleeping Beauty. Children should bring a packed lunch and the workshop ends with a performance for parents with basic hair, make up and costumes.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Our Sister company, The Barnes Musical Theatre Club are holding a workshop based on this wonderful musical on Weds 30th July. 2 workshops are available, a Junior one for children age 7-12 years and a Senior one for children age 8-12 years.  No experience is necessary and as well as learning the songs and dances the children will also play drama games and learn singing and acting technique.

Drop in August Classes

Alongside the workshops we also offer drop in classes for the month of August, these operate on a pay as you go basis and you do not need to be a member of Butterfly Ballet. Classes are held every Weds starting on 6th Aug at St Osmund's Church Hall on Castelnau and no booking is necessary.

3.00 - 3.30pm - Baby Ballet - 18months - 2.5 years - £7.50
3.30 - 4.00pm - Nursery Ballet - 2.5 - 4 years - £8.00
4.00 - 4.40pm - Junior Ballet - 4 - 5 years - £8.50

Exam success

We are delighted to announce that our first exam candidates did brilliantly with a Distinction and a high Merit. Really proud of the girls who loved it so much they said, "We wish it could be an exam every day!"

RAD Primary Exam

Butterfly Ballet entered their first set of pupils to take their RAD Primary exam in March and were delighted to recently learn that the children were awarded a Distinction and a Merit.  It was a brilliant experience for the children who immensly enjoyed visiting the headquarters of the RAD and I am very proud of the hard work they put in.

Butterfly Ballet is 2 years old this month having started up with 6 pupils in January 2012. I have loved teaching and thank you very much for your support which has enabled her to fly!
